From this page you can click through to the main research areas of our laboratory. A very useful approach in our work has been to integrate studies of interacting organisms in their natural habitat with experimental laboratory research into underlying mechanisms.

We study selected species of insects, mostly in the genus Drosophila, that lend themselves to this productive, integrative approach.

Our current field sites are in Arizona, Australia and islands in the South Pacific and Southeast Asia.

The genus Drosophila enjoys a rich tradition of research in Evolutionary Biology, and it is ideally suited for our investigations, which flow from genes ↔ whole organisms ↔ natural communities.
